Al Spike - Drums, Vocals, etc.

In 1976, while still in his early teens, Al formed his first band,
Spud with his high school friends. Spud went on the win the Grand Prize in their
high school talent show. Since then he has played in several local Nashville bands
to include The Pencils, Boards and Sticks, Johnson Grass, Fragile Forest, and
Switchleg.
Hailing from Nashville, TN, Al has been playing drums since the age of 14. Al is
also an avid songwriter and guitar player and has written over 100 songs.
He has written commercial jingles which have been broadcast on WKDF FM in Nashville, TN.
Al's cassette release of "There's No Excuse" in the 80's was a true
rock and roll sensation. He later appeared on the Hybernation CD entitled
"Giant Tracks", a Gentle Giant tribute album. Al’s drum instructors include Chester Thompson of the band Genesis.
Alan is one of the few harmonicist/drummers you will
see.
